Didn't stay in the hotel but went to the bar and the brasserie. Bar is elegant and service was pleasant. There is seating outside for days when the weather is kind. Inside there are comfy chairs, bench seats and armchairs. Music changes depending on the time of day. Downstairs is the brasserie and this is equally as nice. Cosy seating, nice lighting, feels modern with a elegant charm. Service was good albeit a little bit slow, but at least we were not rushed. Food was good and nice portions.
Just stopped for a bite on my way to train. The service is exceptionally good. Just wanted 3 sides to eat and not a full meal. That was no problem for them. The best pigs in blankets I have ever had. I will definitely be back and I recommend anyone in the area to visit.
I had a very nice stay and was upgraded free of charge from a double room to a suite on the 3rd floor. The suite was very nice, modern and spacious. Also very comfortable. Great location on Canal Street next to many bars and restaurants. The only slight issue was the noise from the bar next door when I was trying to sleep however I am a light sleeper and all the bars are part of staying on Canal Street.
Service was dreadful outside. The staff just stood still for ages, not doing anything. Then came over, we asked for a few things, he recommended others. Then only after we paid we realise we’d been charged service. We didn’t even get to see the card machine nor the prices but an automatic 10% service charge for the service we received was disgraceful.
We had a wonderful room overlooking the canal. Staff were excellent. Room very clean and comfortable. Had a mini bar which was fully stocked. Mood lighting very good. The downfall of this hotel was the thumping disco or DJ music which went on until 3.45am. I’m no prude but to have this boom boom boom until this time in the morning was very stressful.
