I had heard some colleagues mention this hotel was a little ropey but I was pleasantly surprised that check in was smooth even though I rocked up around 10pm. The room was basic and the duvet and pillows were average at best however I got a decent night's sleep and the breakfast was better than the Holiday inn express. Would stay again but maybe bring a better pillow!
I actually know there’s been some bad reviews here, which made me unsure but after staying here bank holiday weekend just gone it was actually amazing. The staff were amazing. It was a little bit noisy due to some customers slamming the doors that’s it, but we were spoke to the staff and we got a free breakfast straight away. Becky the supervisor and Matthew another colleague that worked there were absolutely amazing and went the extra mile and the rooms were actually great and I had a good night sleep so if anyone that’s wondering, please don’t hesitate to go and visit and stay. It’s a great location great team.
I'm in Stockport every week for work purposes and stay here almost every time. It's central, clean, well priced, does a really good breakfast with a wide selection and has recently been refurbished so feels up to date and well presented.
Overall, an average one night stay . Everything was just ok , luckily didn't try and Park in the car park over the road . The mattress was a bit hard and not super great. The breakfast was a basic , cooked food left out all morning nothing made to order , bit of a letdown . The coffee was awful from the machine.
*** OVERBOOKED *** - Paid in advance, non-refundable (so they had our guaranteed booking). -We were unsure of our travel plans so even paid extra for the room to be available from 12 midday. However we (2 adults and a teenager) arrived exhausted just after midnight, to be told they had only one small room available and no family rooms. After about 40 minutes (in the middle of the night) we were offered accommodation 25 minutes away in the next town (Macclesfield). This was totally unacceptable for us, because of our morning plans. - The only option was to accept the twin bed accessible room with myself sleeping on the floor, with a duvet under me as a mattress (disgraceful). - Next day the assistant manager was apologetic and offered a refund for the one night’s accommodation sleeping on the floor & the early check-in fee. (No extra compensation was offered). - For our remaining two nights we were moved into a family room. HOWEVER… we were placed in a room next to a barking dog! - WiFi was poor and kept dropping out. - Air conditioning in both rooms cut out every couple of hours, so we would wake up in hot sweats. Then had to get up and reset the air conditioning.
