Great tattoo shop with great artists. I can't recommend Arran Knott highly enough for his freehand work, but all the tattooists have their own style and have great work.
Of all the tattoo shops I've been to, this is by far my favourite. The vibe is so lovely, it's great to see tattoo artists that actually have decent tattoos, a good attitude, and not screaming heavy metal when you walk through the door (not that I don't like it, but sometimes you just want to chill.) The best bunch of people too. My sitting was a great experience. My tattoo artist, Dan, has rectified what has been the bane of my life for a few years and I absolutely LOVE my redo and can't wait to see his fresh work in the coming weeks. I couldn't recommend The Mortal Coil and Dan high enough (if realism style is your thing.) Pictures below, from this to that.
I have been coming to This Mortal Coil for the past 6 years and previous to that was tattooed by the owner (Dan) at his previous studio! What keeps me coming back apart from the absolute insanely talented guys/girls who work there is the incredible atmosphere and the willingness to accommodate any special requests or changes to my bookings etc. Thanks Dan for having and running such a great studio! And finally, thank you to Kat, who is by far the best person to walk the land, thank you for giving me the confidence I never had before my tattoos! You’re all incredible 👍🏼
Had all of my tattoos done here with various artists (Kat, Gaz and Samantha) and have always been more than happy from start to finish. All the staff are lovely and professional and the studio is super clean and welcoming. I became disabled and thought my tattoo days would be over but I’ve managed to keep coming in thanks to the staff and have always been looked after.I get so many compliments on my tattoos and often get stopped by people who are amazed by the art work. I have sent friends to have work done here and they have all been super happy too. I’ve never struggled with communication with the studio or the artists.
Currently in the middle of having my whole leg done by Dan and his work is outstanding! Been into the studio on busy days & quiet days but there is always a great atmosphere..all of the artists and the shop manager are always chill and friendly, they make you feel comfortable and have a good laugh with you while you’re in. I like to do a bit of ‘window shopping’ before I commit to a tattoo, but I’m so glad I chose this place. Have recommended my mates who are looking to get work done to come here, wouldn’t go anywhere else.
