Fabulous place! Staff are so friendly, extremely clean and facilities so so lovely. Lots of machines to use in the gym as well as free weights, pool is always spotless and perfect temperature. All in all a lovely environment. Gym goers are friendly too and helpful, if you're new to the gym! Price of membership definitely worth it for the location and the facilities!
Been a member of y club for 2 years and this gym is just cheeky in terms of how they extort you when you try and cancel your membership. Their gym was flooded so they moved everything into the basketball court and charged you full price for the most uncomfortable, impractical space. Then I tried to cancel and they said I have to pay another month even though I’ve just paid for April, so they are forcing me to pay a month where I won’t use the gym so they can extort me for more money for their impractical pretty much useless service. Its a joke
Been coming here for years and it's been a great experience! Staff are consistently friendly and helpful and the facilities are better than most gyms I've tried in Manchester. Although the gym area is smaller than some other gyms, it has everything you need and thankfully never gets so busy that you have to wait for any equipment. There's a great range of classes and it's really easy to sign up on the app. The running track and punching bag are an added bonus too! Overall, fantastic gym and would definitely recommend!
A fabulous club with a great community atmosphere unlike any other gym. The gym equipment is perfect for me, however I especially love the large sports hall where you can play badminton, hit the punch bag, shoot some hoops on the basketball court or join in on the many classes. The staff are second to none both in the YClub and especially the Castlefield Hotel upstairs which has great food discounted for us members and is a perfect place to work from - they give you access to the WiFi which is particular helpful if you’re a freelancer like myself. Overall I’d give the place 100 out of 10 - I cannot recommend high enough.
I can confidently say YClub Gym is one of the worst gyms I’ve ever set foot in. The changing rooms are downright disgusting—grimy floors, foul smells, and zero effort at cleanliness. It's like no one has ever heard of basic hygiene. The music? Oh, it’s deafening and terrible. Instead of motivating, it feels like they’re trying to drive you out of the building with the worst playlist imaginable. You can’t even hear yourself think, let alone concentrate on your workout. And don’t get me started on the equipment, majority are old and not update in a decade. Everything about the gym feels tired and neglected, like it hasn’t been updated since the early 2000s. Save your time, money, and sanity, go somewhere else.
