The Lowry Hotel claims to be a 5-star establishment, but unfortunately, my experience didn’t reflect that level of luxury. While the customer service was good, the overall stay felt more like a budget hotel, with many missing amenities that one would expect from a true 5-star experience. First, the room lacked basic essentials such as disposable toothbrushes, a comb, and even a pen. The fridge was locked, meaning there was no place to store personal items, which was quite inconvenient. All toiletries were bolted to the wall, giving it more of a Premier Inn feel rather than a high-end hotel. Additionally, there were no complimentary teas or biscuits, which are small but expected touches in a premium hotel. The overall facilities were disappointing—there was no proper seating area in the reception or any communal space to relax before check-in or after check-out. It felt unwelcoming and impractical for guests arriving early or waiting for transport. Breakfast was another letdown. The buffet spread was extremely small and basic, and they kept running out of plates, which was quite embarrassing for a hotel of this supposed caliber. Overall, while the staff were polite and helpful, everything needed to be requested rather than being readily available. For a hotel that brands itself as 5-star, it falls far short of expectations and feels more like a budget hotel with decent service. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for a true luxury experience in Manchester.
Staff are lovely, cannot fault the service. When we arrived, a lovely teddy was waiting in our child's cot which was a nice touch, our child was absolutely over the moon and hasn't let the teddy, affectionately known as "Lowry" out of sight. The room had two single beds pushed together and not even a mattress topper to disguise this. Slightly disappointing as I find this a really lazy move and one usually done by lower rated hotels. I could have asked to move but it was late and just a place to sleep so didn't want to bother. Plus they totally won me over with the teddy. Room featured hot chocolate, teas and coffees. The mini bar / fridge was locked which was a bit budget hotel, it's not like the snacks above were in a locked cabinet. Plenty of towels. Sheets and pillows were comfortable. Ask for a room facing the back of the hotel if you have a young child as there's apartments facing the front of the hotel and some guy likes to sit on his balcony singing (aka screaming out of tune) until after midnight.
Had an amazing experience at The Lowry. From the moment I arrived at reception it was clear that I was in a hotel that was at the front in valuing it's guests. On arrival in my room it was clear that it was spotlessly clean. The bed was so comfortable with high quality linen immaculately presented. The food I found to be fresh, well cooked and presented. All the staff were very professional in the way they carried out their duties. The hotel is situated in an excellent place for exploring Manchester and it's attractions. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a perfect stay.

We had a wonderful stay at The Lowry, and we can't speak highly enough of the staff. Matthew at reception was exceptionally welcoming, helpful, and accommodating—he truly made our stay a five-star experience. One of the nicest hotel staff members we've ever met! The meal at the hotel was delicious, and despite a couple of seating issues, Nathan handled everything with professionalism and warmth, ensuring we were well taken care of. Olivia at the Re:Treat spa was delightful and helped us relax immediately upon arrival. There was also a lovely gentleman at the front of house and during breakfast service who greeted us with a friendly smile and remembered us each day. It was such a nice touch! I also want to mention a breakfast server (apologies for not remembering your name) who was engaging, professional, and a pleasure to talk to. Every single staff member at The Lowry was outstanding. We've stayed at several five-star hotels around the world, and The Lowry stands out for having the friendliest and most accommodating team we've encountered. The room was beautiful, breakfast was absolutely delicious, the massages and spa treatments were fantastic, and the hotel is perfectly located near the city center. Thank you again for such a memorable and wonderful stay!
