I had a mixed experience whilst staying at The Edwardian. The hotel itself is stunning, very beautiful & well maintained. The rooms were clean & spacious offering a comfortable & relaxing atmosphere. I was really impressed with the overall cleanliness & the quality of the rooms. Unfortunately, there were a few letdowns. I had high expectations for the spa but it didn’t deliver at all. The atmosphere wasn’t as luxurious or relaxing as I’d hoped. Customer service was another disappointment. When checking in, the Indian man at the front desk was very unhelpful & argumentative. He was fully uninterested in assisting me with any requests. His attitude really didn’t reflect the high standards the hotel aim to set. However, I had a much better experience with the older gentleman working the night shift. He was incredibly friendly, professional & made sure we were taken care of. Overall, whilst the hotel itself is beautiful & the rooms are fantastic, the service & spa definitely need improvement.
So location wise this place is perfect. Close to the city centre and easy access to station, shops etc. The rooms are spacious and well equipped and clean. However in my view for a hotel to be 5 stars it really needs the whole package, including excellent customer service and unfortunately this is where things are not great. After trying to get through to room service for 20 minutes, I tried the restaurant direct, then tried the bar. All with no success. Finally called reception and they took my order. When I checked out the printer wasn't working so no hard copy. The staff promised to email to me. After several days I chased and discovered that they hadn't charged my card for the stay. So these are not huge problems but if you are a 5 star hotel then you need to offer 5 star service and unfortunately this was missing.
My wife and I stayed here for two nights in February. Our room was a premium collection city view on the 11th floor. The room was very clean and spacious with great views over the city. We had breakfast both mornings and there was a great selection to choose from. The cooked breakfast was delicious and not greasy at all. All the food was warm and fresh. The staff at the hotel were all very pleasant and helpful. We also used the spa facilities twice and they limit it to 25 people every hour which makes the whole experience really nice and relaxing. The location of the hotel was also ideal with dean street 2 minutes walk away with lots to choose from for food and drink. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay in the centre of Manchester.
We had a fantastic stay at the Edwardian Manchester! The hotel’s location is ideal, making it easy to explore the city. The facilities were excellent, and the staff truly made our experience extra special. They provided a cot for our 8-month-old and even surprised my wife with a lovely chocolate cake for her birthday, which she adore . The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with a smile. We stayed for two nights and three days, and it was a relaxing, memorable experience. Highly recommend for families or anyone looking for great service in a prime location!
This was are 3 rd stay hear this year and truly loved it.. great location, warm smiling staff, fantastic room, great king size bed, all warm and cosy.. you get dressing gowns and slippers. couch to sit and relax in the room is comfortable. There’s a spa and pool but always so busy we haven’t tried it yet but plan to next visit.fabulous choice of breakfast, just shame it’s streaky bacon 🥓 we like back bacon.. we’ve just got back and the massive Christmas tree is very classy and you feel very festive.. now there’s Gary who is a star , big smile, full of information and very helpful.. he’s a credit to the hotel.great team, nothing else to say but can’t wait to go back.
