I have received wonderful care from all the practitioners at the Chiropractic Health Centre. I initially approached Dr Andrew seeking a way to manage my travel sickness, and I’m pleased to say it has significantly improved. The treatments have also greatly benefited my overall mobility and wellness. I would strongly recommend this clinic!
I've thought a lot about this review as I don't want to come across as critical or negative but I think it's important to give accurate and balanced feedback. I started seeing Andrew about 3 months ago for some feet pain that he believed was a global issue. I was seeing him 2-3 times a week and one of those was also a sports massage appointment. I was going for about 7-8 weeks before I decided to stop as I wasn't seeing any improvement and the pain of the treatments was unbearable. The approach they use at this practice is incredibly intense and heavy handed. My feet were especially painful as that's the problem area but every session would be a new pain - digging into my ribs, neck, hips, shoulders, anywhere really. I've since started with a new chiropractor who uses the McTimeny approach and not only is the treatment so gentle I can barely feel it, but I've started seeing results after only 2 short sessions. I have no doubt that Andrew's approach works for many people but I wish I'd read a review like this when I was signing up - it doesn't have to be that intense or painful and there are alternatives out there. I left the treatment feeling much worse than when I started. I also discussed at the very beginning that I may have fibromyalgia that causes me general pain, so to inflict more pain on me several times a week has mentally done me some harm that I'm still trying to come back from. The final point I would warn people about is that you often are sharing your appointment with other people in the same room. He flits between patients in the same time session so please do not go here if privacy is something you value. I was extremely uncomfortable with this as being in that much pain is very vulnerable, especially with a total stranger on the bed across the room, but I was never asked if it was ok, it was just assumed. Just trying to give a rounded and alternative opinion to my experience, the team are all lovely and can't fault them, but this is a very painful and intense type of chiropractic which isn't appropriate or necessary for everyone so please use your judgement about whether it's right for you. It wasn't for me.
Response to the reply below: I may have been negative because you were running about 20 mins late. You then started pushing unnecessary treatment plans on me. You gave unsolicited advice which made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. If I needed nutrition tips I will go to a trained nutritionist not my chiropractor. Have been looking for a chiropractor since I moved. Have seen various over the years (moved a lot) and this was easily the worst. Like all chiropractors there is an initial consultation, this was really intense and felt quite invasive with the questions, there was a small amount of treatment. As a bit of background, I am fit and well but occasionally get some lower back pain. They then book you in for a “diagnosis” appointment which just feels way too much and like they’re trying to add things to your problems totally unnecessarily. He said he wanted to see me every week! Total con and just money grabbing, even as a preventative measure once a month should be fine. I don’t even have a severe issue. The treatment was excruciating, far too firm, wants to use cracking, and rather than leaving feeling any type of relief, feel like all my muscles are in pain. Horrendous experience and will be just going back to my old chiro and travelling.
Zyren has been treating me for 5 weeks. I have a lot of neck and lower back issues and so far the adjustments are working and I feel much better than the deep tissue sports massages I was getting somewhere else. I honestly look forward to the weekly sessions.
Suffered with lower back pain for 6 years, tried 3 physios & multiple exercises. A couple of weeks with Zyran & the team & the results have been great. Real physical results. Can’t recommend highly enough.
