This store is poorly managed. I attended for an eye test on 28/05/25 and, whilst I had a corporate voucher from my employer to pay for spectacles for computer use, they attempted to make me pay under the guise that they were needed for reading too. Don't fall for this nonsense; if they try this ploy, request to speak to the store manager and escalate the matter to their Head Office. These corporate voucher contracts are very lucrative for this company, and employers do not want their staff taken advantage of by these people. I resolved this, but only due to my own perseverance. The manager had poor communication skills and needs to manage the store more efficiently, as a considerable amount of my time was wasted. Only the Optometrist, Aisha, stood out as efficient and professional.
Had an eye test today was majorly concerned when I started having migraines. The supervisor, Muhammad was super attentive and helped me pick out the best glasses. He offered lots of advice and made me feel very comfortable. Superb service! Highly recommend this optician as the staff like Muhammad and the woman who did my eye tests were very accommodating and reassuring
Great service. Warm, friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff. The entire process from booking my eye test, through to collecting my glasses was extremely smooth and efficient. I was kept informed and updated throughout my experience.
Took my disabled child into this store on the 19/04/25. After clearly explaining to the optometrist that he has significant disabilities and due to his disability he always gets 2 pairs of glasses if one was to break or get lost at the specialist school he attends. I was told that’s fine then as I was choosing the glasses with my child I was then to be told that’s fine the first pair is covered by nhs and the second pair I have to pay half. I explained that the optometrist told me I could get two pairs but now every thing has changed, so asked for them to give me the voucher as Vision express have always provided two pairs without a charge. A manager called Beth then said to me without me asking for her that she is going deal with this which I thought okay a manager and she will sort it. After another 20 mins she came back and told me that due to bank holiday she is going to call the who ever deals with nhs voucher and get a second voucher but could only be done on Tuesday 22/04. I then received a call on Monday from another person asking what my child’s disability is as they need to put it on the form, so I went through everything. I then waited till 24/04 Thursday and called and spoke to the manager Beth, I again asked her what was happening with my child’s voucher as he is going to school without glasses. I was told by Beth that it is at the board meeting and she will get back to me asap. I again waited until Sunday the 27/04 and called back and asked for Beth but unfortunately she was not working. So I asked to speak to another manager then to get a call back after and hour from a supervisor who then apologised for things to get solved. I explained that this apology is not going to solve anything as I did tell Beth the week before that vision express always gives two pairs and this time I thought I’ll try specsavers, but little did I know that spec savers aren’t really bothered about a disabled child going without glasses. I will never recommend specsavers to anyone if this happens to a disabled person what would happen to a normal person. Specsavers are bothered about the money not what goes one to a disabled child.
I recently visited Specsavers and had an outstanding experience, thanks to the professionalism and care of an employee named Mohammed. From the moment I walked in, Mohammed made the process smooth and stress-free. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain every step—whether it was helping me choose the right frames or walking me through the details of my eye test.
