I seldom feel the need to leave reviews but in this case I wanted too. A lovely place very sensitively restored with lovely original features. My room was very comfortable and had nice features and a well stocked mini bar. The Galloping Major is a great restaurant. But the service from start to finish was just great - a warm welcome from everyone, great night staff who were fun to talk too. I really recommend this place.
Had a great stay here for a couple of nights. The rooms were super clean and had interesting decor. The rainfall shower was amazing and the toiletries provided were nice. The breakfast in the morning was very good, they were very accommodating with allowing you to take things off the full English and add other things instead. They provided orange, apple and cranberry juices as well as a smoothie which was a nice offering. The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome in the hotel. The building is gorgeous and so is the surrounding area. All in all, I would definitely recommend it, even if it is a little on the pricier side!
Booked for a valentines dinner. Served by Jake who was extremely attentive, polite and well mannered. Very much impressed with Jake’s service. Also served by a very polite Peter who did his utmost to ensure an enjoyable evening. I didn’t catch the name of the young man on the bar but his cocktails were AMAZING (especially the lemon meringue cocktail). Overall, a great evening and we will be returning. Thank you Oddfellows.
Went to a 50th birthday party and was served a frozen burger. Unreal. The response from the owner is truly deceitful. 60 guests can testify that it was a frozen burger. Trying to save face face ? The food was bland and had no taste. I'm extremely disappointed. The service was abysmal. Every guest I spoke to could not believe what they were served . Stay away.
We had a wonderful weekend stay here. Great quirky decor. The food was very nice. The bed was the epitome of comfort. The staff were lovely and so helpful. We will certainly stay here again
