Had such an amazing stay. Staff so friendly and helpful - especially Thomas in the restaurant who served us in the evening before going to the Sabrina Carpenter concert and then spotted us in the morning and asked us how it went. Considering all the people they must see, for him to remember had made the stay extra lovely. Location is perfect! Quick walk from Piccadilly station and right next to the gardens. Will definitely use this hotel again when coming to Manchester.
No hassle stay supported by professional staff from check in to exit Check in was so smooth young lady at 1500 was professional gave me the local information i needed and no delays - none of that nonsense of not being able to find booking etc. Room was slightly dated and shower was fixed slightly low for anyone over 5'10 but very clean with a bottle of water in the fridge Special call out to the breakfast team Fahia, Ben and Abby - helpful attentive and actually a hotel breakfast that is worth the cost and effort. Some of my recent reviews on Le Accor chain have rightly been less than positive but this hotel should be the standard - please pass my thanks onto the entire team for an enjoyable hassle and stress free stay
This was a corporate booking via a travel booking service - on arrival I was asked for personal contact details [I am never asked for this in corporate bookings] and was told I couldn't check in without it; it's all on the booking form! And now I have an NPS request despite being told it wouldn't be used for marketing. So here is my unvarnished review: The hotel is dated, the rooms and hotel are in dire need of a refresh. The mattress was like a rock, and the air con did not work. The bathroom tiles have been painted over and are peeling and look dirty. The shower head had black mold on it, the shower screen is marked with limescale and the seals need replacing. The sealant around the tiles, bath, sink, and toilet was patchy, missing, and dirty. The toilet leaked after being flushed. The bedroom mirror had marks on it and had clearly not been wiped down thoroughly. The WiFI was unusably slow on any device - it literally couldn't load the BBC news site. The room didn't feel dirty but it certainly didn't feel like the cleaning standards I expect from a large hotel brand. The saving grace was the staff. With the exception of the pushy reception colleague, everyone else was courteous, friendly, polite, helpful - exactly what I expect. I will not be returning to this hotel when I next stay in Manchester, which is a pity as Mercure's are usually pretty decent.
The hotel was exactly what we were looking for, nice rooms, comfortable bed and a great breakfast. I thought the hotel staff were excellent, very pleasant and very helpful. They really knew how to make you feel welcome. A special mention to Rukhsana who was a great assistance to us during our stay. The location is ideal for central Manchester, with a great selection of bars and restaurants nearby. Also with the tram line on your doorstep it was very convenient to get around. Will definitely be back. Thanks for a great stay.
I had a completely amazing hospitality and warm reception from Rose! Thanks so much for the smile and being so polite highly appreciate it!!! Raymond was also great and cheerful, great chat and a wonderful service. I enjoyed my stay right up until the Sunday , 9th March whereby there was no housekeeping to my room. At around 15:00 I asked reception as I was on my way out , and they confirmed they would send someone, much to my dismay when I returned in the evening, and only the bath towels were changed and the coffee station replenished but nothing else , literally nothing else , that left a bad lasting impression on me.
