Second time we have stayed here . Have to say it's great value for money . The staff are so friendly nothing is a problem . Have eaten in the restaurant for both breakfast and evening meal. Had a sharing steak platter it was amazing , tasted as good as it looked . We were away on business . Car parking is free. We got the bus outside the door and had a lovely day in the city of Manchester. Well done to all concerned , a fab little place. Ps . enjoyed my night cap , a Baileys Coffee sitting outside in 26c , just perfect !
The building looks tired inside would be my first observation. Check-in went fairly smoothly however, the staircase to the 2nd floor rooms is extremely step and narrow. The room was not great; 1. Strong dours from the kitchens surrounded the entrance hall way to the rooms. 2. Bathroom door was dirty and of poor quality. 3. The room transpired to no hot water when we went to shower early in the morning prior to work. 4. When we went to bed after the meal the bed did not have a bottom sheet on and was just the bare matress. Despite booking a table at 07:30PM we had to wait and told to have a drink at the bar. After we approached the bar the restaurant manager was tutting and shaking his head as though it was a problem we had booked a table and expected it to be ready. Given it was a Monday evening and not full the problem seemed to be lack of staff as opposed to lack of tables. In the morning, I told the breakfast service about the lack of hot water and it transpires they knew the night before. Furthermore when we checked in the previous evening at around 18:00pm a plumber attended reception to look at the hot water. Clearly this is an unacceptable situation to let rooms knowing full well you had no hot water. Breakfast was all pre-cooked and sat under heat lamps when we came down, which clearly isn’t the quality you expect. Given the above I request a full refund.
The bed was extremely comfortable, the linings clean and of good quality. The shower facilities were very nice and simple with good pressure and continuous stable water temperature. We did feel a slight chill in the morning so a heating option would have been nice. Extra lighting by the full length mirror would be ideal. Dining was of great quality however it would have been nice to see some vegan and gluten free options. All in all we had a good stay.
Absolutely disgusted with the service I’ve received. I made a reservation for the 26/10/24. Through the Booking app I requested a cancellation and refund because a member of my family had already booked a hotel. Through the app, AFTER requesting a cancellation, I was told that the booking was non refundable and the cancellation was processed, before I even confirmed whether or not I wanted to proceed with a non-refundable cancellation. Obviously I did not want to proceed with a non-refundable cancellation. I was unaware of the non refundable policy and would not have proceeded with the cancellation if I was aware of this. I then rang the hotel to tell them I would not like to cancel and I would like to proceed with my stay. The member of the booking team I spoke with was extremely cold and lacked an ounce of empathy at my current situation. Instead of offering any kind of solution or trying to make a compromise, the person just repeated that I should have read the terms and conditions before cancelling, over and over again, like an automated chatbot. Quite frankly I feel like I’ve been robbed. Your cancelation policy is unclear and unfair policy. If you had an ounce of empathy for your customers you could have found a way to reinstate my booking, rearrange it or try to come to some sort of compromise, but I never received any of that. I have stayed at Innkeeper’s Collection Hotels in the past and I doubt after this horrible experience I will ever be staying again.
Food was good just the room I had was near the extractor fans so you could smell the kitchen. Fine if the window shut but it was a hot night
