Good location, small room & not the best sleep. Stayed here for 2 nights, the reception staff were lovely and very helpful. The room itself was nicely decorated, but quite small for the price. There isn’t a great deal of space or storage in the room, the bathroom was also very small and wouldn’t fit 2 people unless one was in the shower. Location was lovely and central, perfect for walking to the Arndale. View out of the window was also straight into offices less than 6ft away, so curtain had to stay closed the entire time. Finally which might be slightly minor but the pillows were not great, both weird sizes and offering little support. For one night the location is great, but wouldn’t stay for anymore than that.
What a fabulous hotel and service from all staff. My sister and I visited for one night to enjoy a live gig and Christmas Markets. We were served by Celeste and her colleagues Mario and also Maintenance Engineer James who were all very accommodating and professional in their manner to ensure our visit was enjoyed. Thank you also for the fantastic breakfast choices, they were delicious and a refreshing change from the usual full English breakfast. The food and beverages were extensive! Amazing experience was had by us, so thank you 😊
The room was clean but lacked facilities. The TV was outdated with no apps and we couldn’t mirror our phones to the TV, so had to choose between very few channels for entertainment. The kettle was dodgy too and the lid flipped up when it was boiling which was a bit of a hazard. The bathroom was quite modern, but the shower pressure was weak. The key card provided was dirty and had a dark stain on it that resembled blood. On the other hand, staff were welcoming and the lobby was nice. Very central location too. However, we will be sticking to Premier Inn in the future which is cheaper and nicer.
We really loved our stay in the royal exchange branch. We felt very central to everywhere in Manchester. The rooms were very very clean and tidy and staff were very friendly! You’ll definitely get a good nights rest there. We were able to leave our bags in the hotel store room and our belongings felt very safe, as we arrived and left a lot later than check in and check out, this feature was very helpful.
A pleasant hotel in a good location but not having phones in the rooms is a safety issue. Liked: This hotel had very comfortable bedding. It's modern with textile accents in the decor, highlighting Manchester's textile history, which I enjoyed. Continental breakfast was good with some variety. Eggs had little drawings to differentiate hard boiled from soft, very cute and informative. When the first room had a noisy A/C fan, staff member moved me to a quieter room, so I was glad for that. It's at a good location within walking distance to the Cathedral, Art Gallery, Chetham Library & more. Manchester has an amazing array of architecture, too. Disliked: I was quite surprised that this hotel does not have phones in any of the rooms! What a hazard & a safety issue, should anyone fall down or fall ill!! For that reason alone, I don't recommend it for older people or persons with disabilities. Or anyone, really. You would have to call the front desk for help and hope they answer, which they don't always. The place is kept very clean but they really need to draw a line on WHEN they do the mopping and vacuuming. It should NOT be during breakfast time and right under our noses! I was also surprised how low down the sinks were, like they were only accommodating children or shorter folks. Very strange.
