Like most hotels I stay in, the staff here were amazing and the room was clean, but that's about where the praise ended. The walls were so thin I could hear the people in the next room talking (it's embarrassing having to knock on a door and ask someone to *speak* quieter because you hear them), the mattress was uncomfortable, the shower head was so low I couldn't fit under it (which apparently means neither could 20% of the UK male population), and the windows do nothing to soundproof the room so you can hear people screeching in the street all... night.... long. Not an enjoyable couple of nights.
First of all, location is excellent! On the arrival there was something wrong with my booking which they sorted out but did not tell me what was going on. Breakfast is adequate, it covers your basic needs. Now the worst part is the room. They are a bit outdated and worn. Also there is absolutely zero soundproof. I could hear everything from the neighbors room. Talking on the phone, TV, even alarm clock in the morning. You shouldn't wake up to your neighbors alarm. Have stayed here few times before but now I think that was the last time unfortunately since it was not that pleasing
Great experience, friendly and welcoming team. Breakfast had plenty of choice and the hotel is in a great location within walking distance of Manchester Piccadilly station, local shops, bars and restaurants. I would recommend staying if visiting Manchester.
Polite staff, comfortable room with all the amenities necessary. Great location in the city centre, however still very quiet. Comfortable beds, nice decor throughout, hotel easy to navigate and well maintained. Great value for money as well. Highly recommended, perfect stay! :)
I stayed in Room 120 but NEVER AGAIN. I woke up at 3.45 am in the bed because the mattress was decompressed next to me (like someone was laying there) and whatever it was started moving on to me. Then suddenly stopped. I don't drink and I'm a deep sleeper so the movement was strong enough to wake me. I then stayed awake trying to pretend like it hadn't happened, but I felt a sense of foreboding and like something was watching from the corner of the room. I got out of bed, quickly dressed and left the room/hotel at 4.00am. I left the key card at reception cos there was no-one on the desk. I was supposed to check out at 11.00am but I didn't want to stay a second longer around what I'd experienced in that room. I then came across a member of staff that works at the hotel on a social media app who was online, I told him what happened and he said the hotel is aware of guests having experiences like mine and apologised. I'm not at all the kind of person that experiences stuff like this, in fact, I tend to ignore odd noises and things of that nature, but this is what I experienced staying in that room.
