From the moment we checked in the service was by far the best I've experienced. A beautiful, warm greeting by two absolutely charming chaps set the bar and the team went above and beyond to exceed that early high standard. The rooms are gorgeous, as are the rest of the facilities. The whole building is decked out in spectacular fashion and absolutely immaculate. Would absolutely recommend this place in a heartbeat. Perfect, perfect and perfect again. We had the tasting menu with front of house staff Phoebe and Farai who were a charming pair that had excellent service skills, and were attentive and kind - not mentioning that the kind chef (whom I did not catch his name unfortunately) came out of his service, to speak to me in the dining area to tell me about the lamb rump dish. Superb. People who are passionate about their career and care about the top quality food they present. The only true thing I could criticise was the lack of a star from the Michelin company. Michelin needs to get their finger out and try this tasting menu. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
Love, love, love The Gotham. Truly enjoyed my stay. Very nice, clean and comfortable room. The staff was very attentive and accommodating, especially Jason and his concierge team. The rooftop bar was like my private lounge and great for relaxing with colleagues after all day meetings. My new home away from home!
We visited for afternoon tea on Saturday, and it was one of the best experiences we've had. The selection of sandwiches and sweet treats was perfect, offering something for everyone, and it was delightful to have a variety of teas to choose from. The atmosphere was wonderful, and every team member we encountered was incredibly helpful. A special mention goes to our server, Joseph, who was absolutely fantastic. We highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!
On hearing all the positives on the Afternoon tea at the Gotham, I decided to surprise my wife with a visit yesterday (Sunday). And it certainly lived up to expectations. We were greeted by the welcoming concierge Jason, who took us up to the dining room and handed us over to the lovely Phoebe, who then took us to our table. The dining room was fabulous and certainly in keeping with the history of the building as it used to be a bank. The smiling Julio came over and informed us that he would be looking after us for the afternoon. He had with him a small oak box containing a dozen bottles of differing tea’s, explaining each in great detail. I went for peppermint and my wife went for Earl Grey. He then handed us a glass of delicious champagne before bringing us our afternoon tea. This was delicious. Sandwiches, home made scones with cream and jam. The highlight was the delicious cakes, all made by Mel. All in all a fabulous afternoon was had. And I will certainly be recommending afternoon tea at the Gotham to all of our friends. We were made to feel very special. Thank you Gotham.
