On hearing all the positives on the Afternoon tea at the Gotham, I decided to surprise my wife with a visit yesterday (Sunday). And it certainly lived up to expectations. We were greeted by the welcoming concierge Jason, who took us up to the dining room and handed us over to the lovely Phoebe, who then took us to our table. The dining room was fabulous and certainly in keeping with the history of the building as it used to be a bank. The smiling Julio came over and informed us that he would be looking after us for the afternoon. He had with him a small oak box containing a dozen bottles of differing tea’s, explaining each in great detail. I went for peppermint and my wife went for Earl Grey. He then handed us a glass of delicious champagne before bringing us our afternoon tea. This was delicious. Sandwiches, home made scones with cream and jam. The highlight was the delicious cakes, all made by Mel. All in all a fabulous afternoon was had. And I will certainly be recommending afternoon tea at the Gotham to all of our friends. We were made to feel very special. Thank you Gotham.
I went for afternoon tea using a gift voucher I received for my birthday. I have to say myself and my friend received fantastic service. From the greeting on arrival to the lady looking after our coats and bags to the table service. The selection of sandwiches and cakes was delicious. The venue is perfect, very chilled vibe, and I want to mention the young lad on piano. He was amazing! Great talent there I hope he's using it elsewhere. I received a lovely happy birthday in chocolate on a plate with some lush chocolate strawberries which was a lovely surprise! A trip up to the rooftop bar is recommended! Huge thank you to all the staff who looked after us, we will be back again. Merry Christmas. X
We stayed for a night for my birthday, and also had afternoon tea. We were very impressed with the hotel and the fun little touches, like the swag bags in the room and little nods to Batman. We had a complementary room upgrade too. The afternoon tea was one of the best we’ve had. We will be back!
Great service as soon as you enter the hotel. The room was unique, spacious, clean with an amazing monsoon shower. Breakfast was superb and the bar area is great to have a drink and chill.
Myself and my Wife recently stayed at the iconic Hotel Gotham in Manchester, and it truly exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we arrived, the unique character of the hotel was evident. The decor is perfectly suited to the building’s heritage and creates an atmosphere that is both stylish and welcoming. Every corner of the hotel is spotless, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail. The food was exceptional, from breakfast to our main meals. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and tasted as wonderful as it looked. The kitchen team clearly takes pride in offering a top-notch dining experience. One aspect that truly made our stay memorable was the staff, especially Ruby, who demonstrated professionalism and grace under difficult circumstances. We witnessed Ruby handling a male guest who was visibly under the influence and behaving in a shockingly inappropriate, sexually derogatory manner. Despite the uncomfortable situation, Ruby remained calm, composed, and respectful. Her ability to handle this guest with such dignity and professionalism was a testament to her character and to the high standards of Hotel Gotham’s team. Overall, our stay at Hotel Gotham was unforgettable. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a refined, welcoming, and truly distinctive hotel experience in Manchester.
