The staff here are very friendly, however be advised the room conditions are not up to the standards of a Hilton hotel. Upon check in, the room we were provided had many stains in the carpets, on the walls, doors, etc. The night stands had rings from previous guest cups that were not wiped down. We called the front desk to request a new room. They mentioned they would call back when they had a new room for us. An employee brought us new keys and mentioned the entire hotel needs a renovation. When I asked if I could point out some issues I was told “It’s nothing I haven’t seen before.” It was apparent once we got into the new room that they quickly sent someone into the room to clean more. The surfaces were still wet and the room was over-sprayed with air freshener. I had some of my own travel cleaning wipes from the airplane that I used on the door, counters, and they were dirty once I wiped things down. There is a difference between a renovation needed (new carpets, replaced furniture) and general housekeeping (wiping surfaces, doors) and this hotel clearly has a housekeeping issue. We did not feel “clean” at all while in our room during the stay. I provided this review privately to the hotel on 6/2 and requested follow-up, and never heard back. As a frequent traveler (Hilton Diamond Member) I am usually impressed by Hilton standards but unfortunately this hotel should be avoided.
Great breakfast selection of pastries, and hot food. Very nice layout in the hotel. Great staff members, very polite and respectful. Hotel was amazingly clean. Room was amazing. We was both blown away with the room. We went for my birthday and they went above and beyond with a card, decoration in the room, complimentary drinks at the podium. We had a city view on the 21st floor. The pool and jacuzzi was a great extra on the Sunday morning. Overall great experience and would definitely go back again
Stayed for daughter's wedding so had a total of 9 rooms over two days. Very expensive but suites provided the space for her to get her hair and make-up done. Staff on reception and Michelle in lounge were great. Award winning breakfast?? Awful. Not included in price of a suite so £22 each for bacon that flew off plate, cold accompaniments and raw poached egg. Try Brando up the road
Extremely Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Price We were four guests staying one night at Hilton Manchester Deansgate, booking two rooms and requesting at reception to have them next to each other. During check-in, the staff confirmed the rooms were together. However, we were shocked to find the rooms were very far apart (Room 108 and 119)—quite a distance considering our request was clearly communicated. Upon entering the rooms, the carpets smelled terrible—clearly old and poorly maintained. The toilets were dirty with visible hair left in multiple areas, which was completely unacceptable for a hotel of this standard. We requested a room change, but unfortunately, the new rooms weren’t any better. Our room was dirty in every corner—from floors to furniture—clearly not cleaned properly. Due to an urgent meeting in Manchester, we had to leave immediately after checking in and couldn’t report the issue right away. Upon returning around midnight, we noticed even more issues. One of my colleagues, staying in the other room, couldn’t sleep at all due to a broken, jerky bed. How can a 5-star hotel offer such a poor-quality bed to its guests? To compare: I stayed at a Travelodge in Birmingham last month for only £29, and the cleanliness and comfort there were far better than what we received at Hilton, where we paid nearly 7 times more. Lastly, the deposit policy was frustrating. We paid £100 at check-in, and although we were told it would be refunded, we later received less than what we deposited, without any explanation. Overall, a very disappointing and frustrating experience. Definitely not what one expects from a Hilton hotel.
My wife and I went for a long weekend and were very happy with the hotel and our room. We had a great view of the city from the 23rd floor, and the leisure suite was excellent. The pool was fantastic, especially the hot tub, which also offered a wonderful view. The hotel is ideally located with easy access to the city center. We discovered a great Japanese restaurant by the canal.
