    Ordered an expensive pair of prescription sunglasses with polarised lenses. They arrived relatively quickly and in good condition, with the right prescription, but the quality of polarisation was extremely poor. Uneven dark and light blotches of polarisation were clearly visible all around the edges of both lenses. This was immediately apparent when holding them up to any polarised light source/screen/sky, so I have no idea how it got through quality control. I contacted customer support and they were quick and efficient in arranging a return and replacement. However, after I waited a couple of weeks for the replacement to arrive, I was dismayed to find they had fitted new lenses, but they had the exact same issue! I complained to customer support and enquired about their quality control processes, and was told that Glasses Direct "rely on our manufacturing partners to adhere to high standards", i.e.they do none of their own quality control. Every time I exchanged emails with the customer support team, it was a different person, so there were some misunderstandings that took up even more of my time. I should have just got a refund when I received the first defective pair and saved myself the hassle. At least they make the returns process easy.

    I use this company quite a lot before Covid and never had any issues. Went to order some new reading glasses as I was having issues with the ones from my local opticians. I noticed that they’ve stopped doing the free trial which was quite annoying. Needed to order online as I can’t get out and about very much at the moment due to an injury. I was hoping to try glasses on before putting in an order because I’m quite fussy with what I wear. Settled on a pair of glasses waited quite a long time for them to be delivered. Wore them twice before the pressure of them was causing me severe migraines. Worth mentioning that the prescription is fine my issue was solely the frames, an issue that could’ve been avoided if they had the free trials in place still. Asked to return them and was provided a prepaid label which was almost impossible to use. Had to go to 3 different places before it was even accepted which is not great when having to drag a toddler around. I got an email the next day to say that they’ve received them over a week later no sign of the refund. I had to chase on the phone today and don’t give me wrong the advisor was lovely but an unnecessary step. Hopefully, I’ll get the refund in my account soon, but it shouldn’t take this long. Generally not a good experience as a customer. Will not be using again.

    To be honest, I have used this company before and everything was dealt with well, but my latest order has be a farce. Nothing happened for 2 weeks with my order and only after chasing it did it get sent to be processed. Then after another week I check online only to see that one of my glasses has been cancelled with no word, message or E-mail to let me know. As it stands I still don't know what's happening and they still have my money. So use them at your risk and I definitely to keep a close eye on your order process and be prepared to chase it.

    Very impressed with Glasses Direct. Ordered a free trial, the very next day they arrived. 2 of the frames were perfect, I ordered them, added the prescriptions and paid for them. Within 4-5 days my new glasses had arrived. Brilliant service for a fraction of the price I usually pay for a high street optician. Will definitely use again, thank you

    Awful experience. They took payment and 6 days later no confirmed order and although I'd previously sent my prescription and PD measurement the optician was asking for a optician PD measurement even though their email stipulated I could use an app called glasses which was acceptable. Then after I warned I'm ready to cancel they then said they'd accepted the PD measurement but they'd not had my prescription, although the email chain clearly showed I'd sent it....sent again and told them if what I sent isn't enough then cancel the order. Then I get a confirmation order cancelled and it will take 3-7 days for the refund. I'm waiting! Will never deal with these amateurs again!
