We loved this place that much we booked again for next year! Our apartment we had was spotless, comfy beds, huge bathroom very modern. Pool and gym added bonus neither busy. This place also had one of the best hotel breakfast menus I’ve seen in a long time! Great service both at breakfast and reception.
One of the worst stays I’ve ever had. I still ask myself how this place qualifies as a five-star hotel. I’ve traveled to many countries, but this property ranks among my worst experiences. Daily cleaning isn’t included—something I only discovered after checking in. Towels are replaced every four days, and some arrived discolored. As someone who values hygiene, this was unacceptable. Weekly cleaning was promised, and today marks the seventh day—yet no one showed up. When I asked, I was told my room was skipped due to “too many cleanings” today. Apparently, new check-ins take priority over existing guests. Want daily cleaning? That’ll cost you £45—nearly half the price of a proper hotel. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it to anyone. Room 1212, in case management feels like honoring the commitment they made.
Location great, but few things to be aware of Parking is available but next door in the NCP for £24/day which they didn't say. Breakfast strangely has to be booked on open table, links don't work so download the app l - checked in at 3pm and only 10.30am available next day, even at that time huge 1hr wait so didn't bother, coffee machines don't work in room. Room was OK but didn't feel clean to me, the location and pool are best things about the place Pretty disappointing overall for what it's advertised as
The rooms are good, but there are several important notes: - There is no phone in the room to call room service, you have to go down to the reception. - There are no toothbrushes and toothpaste, and there is no tissue paper in the rooms. - we found one of the pillow dirty - The breakfast is good, but the options are very limited. - AC not working and the weather is very cold - A deposit of 100 pounds was requested upon arrival.
We’ve stayed here 3 times. The first two times were great. The third time (which is my current stay, for my birthday) wasn’t so great. The only request we made on our booking was for a room on one of the top floors because we wanted a nice view for my birthday, but the room was much smaller than our rooms in our last few stays and it had issues. Our room had broken air con, and it was a really hot day. We had spent 3 hours driving here, and I get headaches during car journey and the heat. We then had to be moved at 11am at night, an hour before my birthday. We wanted to cook, but held off cooking thinking that we shouldn’t settle because we may be moved if the air con couldn’t be fixed. The receptionist was nice, he gave us a bigger room - one like our prior stays, but it was on the 6th floor instead. The whole floor stunk of cigarette smoke, I just felt nauseous. In our next room, the air con was clearly still faulty but not broken, but we just needed to relax after the long drive and wanted to welcome my birthday in at 12 The room just had multiple issues, the plates and cutlery were missing and it was just one thing after another. There was no body wash or hand soap. The safe was broken, and on the morning after my birthday, the fire alarm went off for quite a while. Furthermore when my partner booked the room and he did let the company know that it was my birthday, but it wasn’t even acknowledged. The receptionist that booked us in was quite blasé in general. We stay at hotels, air B&Bs and apart-hotels quite a lot, and they usually take pride in celebrating with the customer regardless of the occasion - e.g. even for our anniversary we’ve had thoughtful gestures like room upgrades or balloons left on the bed with a sentimental note. They didn’t really care here or take notice, so I wouldn’t recommend staying here for a special occasion. We booked this with at least a week’s advance, so this shouldn’t have happened. There was enough time to organise a decent room for this stay. The man on reception on the night prior to my birthday was very friendly and helpful and we were grateful for his help, but there’s only so many times that we can keep going back to someone with all the issues there were. It is a great location and if they only sorted these issues out, it would be the perfect place to stay. I think customer experience is really important with these types of places and they’ve just fallen short. We may think twice before coming again, and explore other places in Manchester.
