I waited 55 minutes to be seen. I was in Boots for a total of 95 minutes for a simple eye test. Part of the test had to be missed off so I will have to go back again. I’ve previously been left waiting so long it’s taken 2 hours for an eye test. Would avoid if you have a job you need to get back to.
I recently had a final contact lens appointment after a period of monitoring and improving my eye health, and trialling two types of lenses. The whole experience was great as always. Booking, reminders, all the staff who helped on each day, and especially Amanda the optician who has helped me through the whole process start to finish over a number of months. She is warm, welcoming, friendly, professional, and has been extremely supportive. Massive thanks!
This is a superb service and I can’t rate it highly enough, but especially Koran for my initial appointment, and then Mia for an additional pair of glasses I bought. Koran bore the brunt of my indecisiveness (first-time glasses for me) but he met it with patience, care, professionalism, and equally importantly, great fun … he was perfect! Koran and Mia were honestly a breath of fresh air where often customers can feel rushed, or that we’re just ‘one of many’. Well done and thank you … again :)
The stuff and the service was completely great. Including frame choice - the lady helping was very nice and patient, but your choice of frames not so good, there are not enough choices of bigger sizes (55+) and it makes it nearly impossible to find affordable options for wider face. Yeah, there are probably some luxury brands, but nothing good below 150 pounds.
I thought the optometrist was excellent and very friendly. They would get 5 stars. The people on the welcome desk were stood talking about their nights out when I arrived and ignored me for about 40 seconds before finally dealing with me. The person then doing the checks like pressure and acuity was a bit distracted and was asking questions whilst I was trying to concentrate on the test. A bit more empathy is needed. The booking logistics are terrible. I booked online in September and then kept getting letters telling me to book. Last time it said they would stop sending contact lens unless I booked an appointment. Obviously the store booking system doesn’t communicate with Boots Contact Lens!! Next on the Tuesday before the appointment I get a call explaining my appointment was 11.10 in 2 days time. All good. Next day I get a text saying my appointment is 1135. I therefore arrive at 1130 and I’m told I’m late for my contact lens check, which was still 1110 but my glasses check was 1135! I had to plead for them to do both instead of just having the glasses eye check as initially proposed. I’d suggest your communication needs to be more synchronised and much clearer!!
