The building is gorgeous and the location is fantastic!!! Great place to stay! However, the room’s AC was not working. There was a small fan but couldn’t get the room to cool at night. We also only had one big towel in the bathroom. Otherwise we would have given 5 stars.
Cracking location however that is the only glaring positive. Rooms are not as nice you would expect- mould in bathrooms, no smart TVs in the rooms so couldn’t even watch BBC i player, let alone Netflix and lastly service wasn’t good enough when we asked if any rooms had smart TVs, was told we would get a call back in 20 mins. Never happened sadly
We have stayed here before and love how it is just a very short walk from Piccadilly station. I chose to book here again due to our previous stay. Unfortunately when we arrived, we were informed that the lift was broken, and that food was only available until 4pm, ( not their fault, due to staff sickness). We had a late lunch in the restaurant which was excellent, staff were lovely and very efficient and professional. I have some mobility issues, so found the lack of a working lift difficult, however, we were located on the 2nd floor , so could have been worse. I always book a hotel with air con re menopausal issues, so was disappointed that the air con did not work/ Dyson fan provided was useless. Apparently, having now read reviews going back to May 2024, the air con and lift has not worked since then, the hotel should not still be stating on booking sites that they have air con and lift access when they clearly do not. Rooms looking a bit 'tired' compared to when we last stayed. Would have liked a fridge in the room, some complimentary bottles of water. On the plus side, had the best night's sleep ever, bed was SO comfortable! Really good selection of teas in the room. Good quality toiletries in the room, shower was really powerful. Breakfast very good and cooked to order. All of the staff were so friendly, helpful and went above and beyond in the standard of their service, and ensured that our stay was as comfortable as possible. Abode Manchester senior management, please appreciate and acknowledge the calibre and professionalism of all of your staff here. Thank you staff for making our stay as good as you did when you are working with the practical issues currently which are beyond your control.
Great food, cocktails and friendly service. Reasonably priced. Two minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly Train Station.
Boutique hotel in a great location. However, it is not the most comfortable as it is quite dated and in need of maintenance. The breakfast is served in the next-door restaurant, requiring orders from an à la carte menu. This has both advantages and disadvantages. On the plus side, the dishes are prepared when you order them, so they don’t sit in a buffet. On the downside, it may take longer to finish your breakfast. Additionally, I must note that they use ready-made pancakes from a packet, which were rubbery and unpleasant, so I wouldn’t recommend ordering those.
