I've been coming to this practice for about 20 years. The staff - opticians and receptionists - are friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. All my eye exams have been really thorough and there is no 'hard sell' regarding frames etc. On a couple of occasions Joe advised I didn't need new glasses as the change to my prescription was very minor. I would recommend the practice to anyone who is looking for a professional, friendly practice with a guaranteed warm welcome.

Normally i am really happy with the service, and welcome at arrowsmith. I have recommended the shop to a few people thinking of either changing or going to an opticians for the first time. This time, sadly, i have had a totally different experience... i phoned to get a repeat prescription for lenses, but there was no answer, so i left a message and waited for a call back. 4 or 5 days later, i phoned back because i had not received a call. The response was, "oh, that was me, i was busy, and forgot to get back to you" during this call, i was informed that i had not been part of the lenses club, (which i believed i was.) On the call i also said i would like my lenses checking for the reading side of things. So the lady told me she would get the optician to call me and chat about it. Now considering you have already forgotten the person you are speaking to, you'd think that you may speak to the optician and explain that the person has been missed a call back maybe? That didn't happen, then after 3 weeks waiting for a call, i have phoned in today, and been told that the optician has forgotten to now call me back. Not only that, i can't get lenses because the optician is away now on holiday. I know things can happen, but there is a poor lack of customer care here... because i have had 3 or 4 orders of lenses, each for 3 month supply, i have also bought 2 pair of expensive glasses, and 2 pair of readers. Would you not think, that on this one occasion, you would say, i will order the lenses because of the mix up and delays you're having... then we need to get you started on the club for lenses? Instead of constantly batting me off, blaming me for leaving it too long this time to phone in and check what happened to this call back? The dark haired lady who works in the shop is always brilliant... but i feel the other lady who i have dealt with on both these occasions has let the shop down. I am not demanding, but i do believe in customer service... not the customer is always right.

Very nice & patient optician my daughters wore glasses for years & it's only when you change opticians (following your gut instinct) is it that there's so much more to a eye test than my kid had ever had + so glad I did because she has 2 problems with her Vision now So glad I changed av got a little more hope for her outlook in the future
