Booked this for Peter Kay concert and paid far too much due to this, over £230 for 1 night. The decor is very brash, cartoon/comic elements which not to my liking. The rooms were a good size, including a sofa and comfortable beds. Well equipped with coffee machine, fridge, robes, hairdryer and iron&board. Would like a window that opened but does have air conditioning, which I'm not a fan of. Would have given higher score other than gaudy decor, not at all soothing. Breakfast was a feast and good quality hot choices to order in addition to cold buffet. Staff were lovely and attentive.
The location is excellent for central Manchester and the transport infrastructure. Friendly and efficient at the reception. The room is quite small and stuffy. A fridge was in the room, but nowhere to plug it in. Storage was tight and difficult to use. Lighting was poor. On a positive note the shower was good and the TV was well positioned. However, not a room you want to stay in for long. Breakfast was very pricey, but there are lots of cafés and restaurants nearby.
Taken from the French translation " Bad House" . That description is far from accurate. I arrived an hour early and the receptionist happily checked me in . Rooms aren't huge - But why should they ? You're only sleeping there after all. This isn't Las Vegas! Great modern and very clean rooms. Plenty of power points if you want to charge all your stuff on somebody else's Dime. The queen size bed is mega comfy and adequate for the single traveler and intimate enough for the more ' romantic' guests. Huge supply of brews and FREE BISCUITS - A dying commodity in many hotels today. I didn't eat or drink on the premises, but the bar and eating areas looked righteous enough . If you want a good ol' fashioned boozer with sports, the Waldorf next door is a must and if you want to people watch and play find the toilets , there's a decent Wetherspoons up the road. Malmaison is yards from Piccadilly train and bus stations , Canal Street and the 02 Apollo. There are plenty of other big chain named hotels in the vicinity, but why bother..seriously , why bother ?!! As Arnie says. "I'll be back!"
Great location close to a beach downside but rather handy car park. Also connected to a Starbucks which was needed in the morning! Hotel itself had friendly staff and a good food menu and drinks options. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I enjoyed my stay here and would use them again.
Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience. I booked a private dinner through the event manager, but communication was poor and very little information was provided. The photos shown beforehand were completely different from the actual space. When we arrived, the staff had no idea that an event was even scheduled. The table was empty—no decorations, no setup, nothing to suggest a special occasion. For the price paid, this was extremely underwhelming. I wouldn’t recommend this place for private events based on this experience.
